BEAU WALKER MAKES COMMITMENT TO WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT (D3)

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – IceRays forward, and all-time team point leader Beau Walker has committed to play next fall at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (D3).

Walker signed with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, a member of the NCHA and head coach Justin Quenneville said it was an easy choice to make.  “Beau had several options and chose to be a Pointer for several obvious reasons,” said Quenneville.  “They are a top rated academic institution and among the top in the conference every year on the ice.  More importantly, Beau will have the opportunity to play for Chris Brooks who I am very familiar with.  He is a first class coach with loads of experience collegiately and professionally.”

Walker, the all-time leader in every scoring category with the IceRays has 33 goals, 74 assists, and 80 points in 114 games played. 

Wisconsin Stevens-Point is currently 8-6-1 on the season.

In addition, former IceRay Dmitry Ermakov, who started last year with Corpus Christi has committed to Norwich University.   Ermakov played 28 games and scored three goals and 11 assists.  Norwich tops the D3 polls at #1 in the country with a perfect 10-0-0 record in the ECAC East. 

The IceRays are home this weekend as they host Odessa for the first time all year.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on sportsjuice.com, ustream.com, and fasthockey.com.
