FORMER ICERAY SAUCERMAN COMMITS TO NORTHEASTERN

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Former Corpus Christi IceRay Colton Saucerman has committed to play next year at Division 1 Northeastern University. 

Saucerman, currently plays in the USHL for the Lincoln Stars and has one goal and one assist through four games played. 

“Its huge,” said Saucerman.  “I think every player dreams of getting a scholarship and playing division one college hockey.  This is my second go around being committed and it’s really special nice to know that there are teams and coaches appreciate the way you play.  The coaches at northeastern are excited and it’s special to know that you’re needed.  It’s also special for me as well, I get an education and learn better hockey.”

Last year for the Corpus Christi IceRays, Saucerman played in 39 games scoring eight goals and assisting 26 others.

“It was huge playing in Corpus I owe it all to them, with the coaching staff and general manager Pat Dunn.   They helped me realize that there was more to my game that I needed to work on.”

The Northeastern University Huskies are members of the Hockey East and play powerhouse teams such as Boston College, Boston University, and Maine.

The IceRays are on the road this weekend as they take on the Wichita Falls Wildcats.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
