Sep 27, 2011

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays are pleased to announce that 18 year old Brandon Adams has joined the team.  Adams, who is from Prospect Heights, Illinois, has reported to the team and practiced earlier today.

The 5-11, 180lb forward was with Des Moines in the United States Hockey League, and was drafted by the Corpus Christi IceRays in the 2011 Draft in May.  Adams was picked in the sixth round of the draft by the IceRays, 130th overall.

“Having Brandon join our club is going to add additional depth to our line-up,” said head coach Justin Quenneville.  “His noticeable tangibles are his speed and power, but the elements to his game that will add to our team will be his continuous work-ethic and past Junior experience for our younger players to feed off.  I expect Brandon to help add leadership and offensive opportunities to our line-up night in and out and I am excited for the opportunities for him that lay ahead.”

In the 2010-2011 season, Adams played for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) who finished 6th place in the Coastal Conference.  In 52 games playes, Adams netted 12 goals and 13 helpers, along with 10 penalty minutes.

The IceRays are in action this Friday and Saturday for a pair of games in Odessa at 7:05PM.  Coverage on ESPN Radio 1440 starts at 6:50 with the pregame show!
