ICERAYS DEFEAT THE WILDCATS 4-1

WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays won their sixth game in a row defeating the Wichita Falls Wildcats by a 4-1 score inside the Kay Yeager Coliseum.

Corpus Christi started the scoring as Seth Blair banked the puck off goaltender Tyler Green from behind the goal-line and into the net for his sixth goal of the season at the 14:22 mark of the first period giving the IceRays a 1-0 lead.

Wichita Falls tied the game 1:32 into the second period after a flurry of shots Nick Szopinski picked up the loose puck in front scoring his second goal of the year tying the game at one a piece.

Justin Lutsch took a two minute minor penalty for holding, however Joe Ginley scored a shorthanded breakaway goal going top shelf on Tyler Green to give Corpus Christi a 2-1 lead.

Beau Walker broke out of the scoring drought as he notched his second goal of the year at the 12:35 point of the second period increasing the IceRays lead to 3-1.

Matthew Weis added an empty net goal to give the IceRays a 4-1 lead.

Anthony Stolarz stopped 42 of 43 shots in the victory

The six game win streak is tied for all time in Corpus Christi IceRays hockey.

The IceRays are back in action tomorrow night as they round out the weekend series against the Wichita Falls Wildcats.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, pregame show kicks off at 6:50PM with the voice of your IceRays Rob Lippolis, on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
