ICERAYS GOLF TOURNAMENT SET TO TEE OFF MONDAY

Mar 9, 2015

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays take to the links on Monday, March 16 at 12:00 p.m. from the NorthShore Country Club for the IceRays 7th Annual Golf Tournament, presented by Andrews Distributing and Coors Light. The yearly event brings together members of the Corpus Christi community and the IceRays for one afternoon of networking and fun, and proceeds from the afternoon will benefit the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

“This will be our 7th Annual Golf Tournament, and it never gets old,” said IceRays general manager Pat Dunn. “We are always excited for the event. It gives the players and staff a chance to spend some quality time with sponsors and fans, and the event is for a great cause. This tournament is very special to us and to our partner, Andrews Distributing. It permits us to have a great day of fun and mingle with IceRays fans, and it’s also very beneficial for the players to get their minds off hockey just on the eve of the playoffs.”

Participants can join a team, band some friends together, or even play alongside your favorite IceRays to play 18 holes of golf at one of the area’s best golf courses. The tournament will be a best-ball format–the farthest drive by a team member is where that group will shoot their second shot–that caps the maximum shot number to single bogey, or one over par. Skill level can range from novice to well experienced, and the IceRays welcome all to participate.

Following the match, top performing teams will be awarded prizes and all participants are automatically entered into a drawing for a wide array of prizes donated by numerous local businesses and sponsors. A meal and refreshments is provided following the match at the clubhouse and also presents a chance for business members and owners to mingle with each other and the IceRays players and staff to better know one another as well as network with one another.

Registration is still open for those looking to take part in the event. Individual players may register for $85 while teams of four can group together for $325. Hole sponsorships are available for interested businesses and community members for $125, and teams that want to also sponsor a hole can purchase both for a discounted $400. For registration or sponsorship information, contact the IceRays Front Office at 361-814-PUCK.

The IceRays conclude their season series with the Lone Star Brahmas on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:05 p.m. from the American Bank Center on Country Night.
