The Corpus Christi IceRays will be out in full force on Saturday at the Rise and Shine Walk. The team will be selling raffle tickets for the custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle which will be raffled off on PACK THE HOUSE night on March 25th at the American Bank Center. All proceeds benefit the RISE school of Corpus Christi. See the information below and come support a great cause.

The 5th Annual Rise and Shine Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, FEBRUARY 19, 2011 at 8:00 am at Whataburger Field. Once again this year there will be a 1k walk and a 5k run.The goal of this walk is to promote awareness and the inclusion of people with special needs and to raise money to help support the Rise School of Corpus Christi. Families, students, and the community are invited to complete the walk or run followed by food, games, entertainment, and a raffle, and our annual picture of “The World’s Largest Living Sun”. The run follows a certified 5K route and is chip timed. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals will be awarded in each age category.
The Rise School, which opened in August of 2007, provides the highest quality early childhood education to all young children including those with developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome, Stroke, Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. The Rise School is a privately funded, not-for-profit organization that receives the vast majority of its funding from grants and private donations. Among the excellent services provided at the school are: 3:1 child/instructor ratio; music, occupational, physical & speech therapists on staff; and scholarships for students. The Rise School is currently preparing for and looking forward to the opening of our second classroom in the upcoming months, as there are currently 25 families on the waiting list to get into the school.
