ICERAYS TO WELCOME SCHOOLS ON THURSDAY

Oct 25, 2016

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays kick off their three-game Pink In The Rink weekend against the Shreveport Mudbugs on Thursday, Oct. 27 with the MD Anderson Kids Day Game, presented by Smile Life Orthodontics, Promptu Immediate Care, and Schlitterbahn, at 10:00 a.m. from the American Bank Center.

Each season, the IceRays work with a local, regional or national company to help provide new, fresh educational experiences for students in the Corpus Christi area through the annual day game. This season, the IceRays are working with MD Anderson Cancer Center to educate local students on the effects of tobacco use and the dangers of tobacco through ASPIRE (A Smoking Prevention Interactive Experience) during the two intermissions. The IceRays are expecting close to 5,000 local students in attendance from various school districts including: Aransas County, Corpus Christi, Calallen, Flour Bluff, Robstown, Sinton, Three Rivers, and West Oso.

In addition to schools, Thursday’s game is also open to the general public with limited seating availability. Winning Weekdays returns for the morning tilt with buy-one, get-one tickets available through the American Bank Center Box Office. Tickets are available at www.Ticketmaster.com and the box office.

The game is also the first time the IceRays and Mudbugs will take the ice in regular season play since the 2009-10 Central Hockey League (CHL) season. It’s the first of 12 games between the two sides and first of three different appearances at the American Bank Center, including a mid-week game at the end of December and a single game on Wednesday, Mar. 15. The game also kicks off Pink In The Rink weekend culminating on Saturday night.
