Have you dreamed about being the voice for a professionally-run sports team and are local to the Corpus Christi area? Now is your chance! The Corpus Christi IceRays are searching for a public address announcer available throughout the 2017-18 season.
The IceRays are just over one month away from the team’s biggest season yet and the 20th Anniversary celebration, and the organization is looking for another voice to lead the team’s in-house entertainment. The IceRays PA Announcer is the voice of IceRays entertainment in the American Bank Center for all 28 home games throughout the season and will be the master of ceremonies on a nightly basis. In addition to live reads of pre-scripted commercials and announcements, the announcer also handles improvised intermission games, such as the Whataburger Ball Drop and H-E-B Minute To Win It, and miscellaneous announcements as required.
The ideal candidate for the IceRays PA Announcer must be enthusiastic about sports and announcing as well as charismatic with an engaging voice and able to speak clearly in front of large audiences. This person will be able to work under pressure in a high-paced environment and be comfortable with both pre-scripted events and improvised entertainment. The candidate must be able to work all 28 home games throughout the 2017-18 season and be available for any playoff appearances in April. Basic knowledge and understanding of hockey is not required but preferred. Wrestling entertainment familiarity will also be considered. There is compensation on a per-game basis.

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older to apply and live in the Corpus Christi area. Applications must be submitted by Monday, Sep. 4 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. Qualified candidates will be contacted for live auditions, which will be held on Saturday, Sep. 9 at the American Bank Center, and all candidates must be available for that date or at another time to perform for the judging committee.
