CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL) have promoted former Corpus Christi IceRays broadcaster Rob Lippolis to the team’s radio play-by-play broadcaster, Devils’ Executive Vice President of Business Operations Tom Mitchell announced today.

Lippolis, 28, gained the promotion following one season as the Binghamton Senators’ Director of Media & Community Relations, handling the team’s media services, social media and community events as well as filling-in as the radio voice on necessary occasions. The Windsor, N.Y. native previously spent two seasons with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2014-15 to 2015-16, serving as the team’s Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations.

Lippolis joined the IceRays organization prior to the 2011-12 season and spent three years as the “Voice of the IceRays.” He called 184 games with the IceRays, including his NAHL debut on Sep. 14, 2011 at the NAHL Showcase and the first playoff game and win in junior franchise history on Apr. 5, 2013 against the Amarillo Bulls. Prior to his time with the IceRays, Lippolis called games for the NCAA Division III Oswego State Lakers and filled-in on the radio for the Binghamton Senators and San Antonio Rampage.

He joins former IceRays broadcasters Ryan Holt (Baskersfield) and Dan Weiss (San Antonio) in the AHL, the second-highest tier of professional hockey in the United States. Including former voice Josh Bogorad (Dallas Stars), four former voices are currently at the NHL or AHL level.
