OIL INDUSTRY NIGHT & JOB FAIR COMING THIS JANUARY

Dec 28, 2014

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce their first ever Oil Industry Night & Job Fair will be coming to the American Bank Center on Saturday, January 10 when the IceRays host the Odessa Jackalopes. Proceeds from the day’s events will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Coastal Bend.

“We thought that it would be a great idea to tie in a job fair with the game not only to help companies fill voids on job opportunities but also for people to see what’s out there and possibly get a better job than what they have right now,” said IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn. “Hosting this on a Saturday, it gives people a little bit of flexibility to come out and check it out.”

In partnership with Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend, the IceRays will be hosting an Oil Industry Job Fair from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. within the American Bank Center. Prospective job seekers in the oil industry will have a chance to meet with companies and industry professionals to help get started in the industry, continue navigating through the ranks, and network with other members of the industry. Companies will be have the opportunity to recruit new members and also network with other industry professionals. Workforce Solutions will also have all jobs posted from participating companies and reach out to many potential job seekers.

“Partnering with Workforce Solutions was key,” said Dunn, “as we are not in that industry. That’s their position and what they do best. They have been great to work with, and we would have been overwhelmed without them.”

Companies, potential job seekers, IceRays fans, and members of the Corpus Christi community will also have the opportunity to attend the evening’s Oil Industry Night presented by Baker Hughes, Corpus Christi Freightliner, Laguna Wealth Services, and AutoNation Ford at 7:05 p.m from the American Bank Center. The IceRays will be adorning special uniforms inspired by the oil industry with IceRays colors spread throughout the design. Following the game, the IceRays will auction those jerseys after the game presented by Eddie Jackson, New York Life to benefit CASA of the Coastal Bend.
