PINK IN THE RINK RETURNS SATURDAY NIGHT

Oct 26, 2016

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays are turning the American Bank Center pink on Saturday night with the 9th annual Pink In The Rink game, presented by AutoNation, KRIS-TV, Radiology & Imaging, and South Texas Surgical, on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:05 p.m. in the third of three-straight games against the Shreveport Mudbugs.

The annual event began in the 2008-09 season under the direction of General Manager Pat Dunn, who brought the event to the Corpus Christi area after seeing the event done over his career in various professional hockey organizations, and local politician Brent Chesney with the goal in mind to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Now, Pink In The Rink is one of the highest-attended games of the season to close out Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is a staple in the specialty night lineup as well as in the Corpus Christi community.

This year, the IceRays are taking a different approach to their beneficiaries in bringing four local organizations instead of one large group, working with Corpus Christi Fire Fighters C.A.R.E., Christus Spohn Cancer Center, First Friday, Mission Mercy to help the fight against cancer in the Corpus Christi area.. The IceRays will wear pink-themed jerseys on Friday and Saturday night to mark the occasion as customary on the weekend. These jerseys will be immediately available to the public for bidding in the Eddie Jackson, New York Life Post-Game Jersey Auction taking place immediately after the game in Section 113 of the arena. In addition, a silent auction table with various items from local business and community members will be available through the end of the second intermission, and a 50/50 raffle will also be conducted throughout the stands. Proceeds from the event will go toward Corpus Christi Fire Fighters C.A.R.E., Christus Spohn Cancer Center, First Friday, Mission Mercy. There will also be a post-game skate, presented by Braselton Homes, that will take place immediately following the game and during the specialty jersey auction.

Saturday night is also a Corpus Christi Caller-Times Family 4-Pack Night, meaning fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $48. Tickets for Pink In The Rink, as well as Friday night’s Tride Rideshare Frosty Friday, are available at www.Ticketmaster.com and the American Bank Center Box Office.
