The Corpus Christi IceRays weekend did not go as planned. A few bad breaks, and bounces that didn’t go their way, and now Corpus Christi has to play catch up to get into that final playoff position in the South Division standings. Friday night, the IceRays lost on a call in overtime that should not have counted, and Saturday lost to the Roadrunners in a penalty filled game 4-1.
GAME #1 – 12-02-11: Corpus Christi 3-4 (OT) Topeka Roadrunners – After no scoring in the first period, Joe Ginley put the IceRays on the scoreboard 10:38 into the second period as Perry D’Arrisso deflected the puck off the skate of Ginley and into the net for a 1-0 lead. Topeka came right back as Brian Christie and Collin Montgomery both scored to tie that game at two a piece heading into intermission.
