STOLARZ NAMED USA JUNIOR HOCKEY GOALIE OF THE WEEK

JuniorHockey.com today announced that Anthony Stolarz, of the North American Hockey League's Corpus Christi IceRays, has been named Wall USA National Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 18th after recording his first shutout of the season in a 4-0 win at New Mexico.

The young net minder improved his 2011-12 record to 9-7-1. The outing also improved his individual numbers to 2.42 goals-against-average and .926 save percentage in his eighteen games this season.

Ice Rays GM Pat Dunn is proud of the seventeen year-old. "This is a great story and we have to give credit to our staff for finding him. Stolarz is now getting the attention of the NHL, USHL, and colleges," Dunn said after being informed of Stolarz award. "We could not be more proud of him."

The Jackson, New Jersey native is considered one of the top young goaltending prospects in the United States

The IceRays hit the road December 28th as they take on the Texas Tornado  .  Puck drops at 7:30PM CST, coverage begins at 7:15PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
