Nov 17, 2015

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays return home to the American Bank Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in a busy three-game week to open the season series against the Lone Star Brahmas. This is the lone home series for the month of November, finishing off a five-game month.

Thursday morning at 10:45 a.m. begins the week with the Kids’ Day Game, presented by Cheniere, Shale Magazine, SMG Management, South Texas Energy & Economics Roundtable (STEER), and Texas A&M Kingsville. The IceRays will be welcoming thousands of students from middle and high schools from the greater Corpus Christi area into the arena for mid-day hockey as well as educational opportunities. This year, Cheniere and STEER are presenting educational information about the oil & gas industry, and students will have the chance to network with representatives from multiple oil & gas companies. For the general public, Thursday is also a Winning Weekday, so fans can take advantage of buy-one, get-one free tickets only at the American Bank Center Box Office. Doors for the public will be open at 9:45 a.m.

Friday’s game returns to a 7:11 p.m. start time and another Frosty Friday. One-dollar beer and sodas will be available throughout the evening’s game in the mid-way game. The IceRays will also offer a Post-Game Skate, courtesy of Braselton Homes. Doors open at 6:05 p.m.

Saturday night is the 8th annual Stars & Stripes Night, presented by Whataburger and First Title Company. The IceRays have distributed over 10,000 ticket vouchers over the past few weeks to local military, police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMT), and other first responders to thank those men and women for the service and protection they provide the country and the greater Corpus Christi area. Leading up to the opening faceoff, the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi, led by director Ram Chavez, will perform a tribute to all branches of the United States military leading into their performance of the national anthem. The IceRays will also publicly honor those who have served during the course of the game.

Throughout the three-game set, the IceRays will wear special military-themed jerseys culminating into the final game of the weekend series. These jerseys will be available for public purchase in the Eddie Jackson, New York Life Post-Game Jersey Auction immediately following the game. Saturday is also a Corpus Christi Caller-Times Family 4-Pack Night. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $46 by mentioning the 4-pack night at the American Bank Center Box Office.

This is the first of 12 meetings between the IceRays and Brahmas during the 2015-16 season, and this year the IceRays will host two three-in-three series at the American Bank Center with the second coming in February. Last year, the IceRays fell in the season series 3-4-1 but won three of four meetings at home, bringing the franchise series to 8-6-2 in favor of Corpus Christi. Tickets are available at www.Ticketmaster.com, the American Bank Center Box Office, or by calling the IceRays Front Office at 361-814-PUCK. Coverage of all three games begins 15 minutes before the opening faceoff (10:30 a.m. on Thursday; 6:50 p.m. on Friday and Saturday) on SportsJuice.com, FASTHockey.com, and 87.7FM in-arena.
