HOCKEY & HEELS COMING TO ICERAYS GAME THIS FRIDAY

Feb 3, 2015

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Enjoy a ladies’ night out as the Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) host their first ever Hockey & Heels Night, presented by Mattress Firm, Prime Real Estate, and The Results Companies, while they play the Lone Star Brahmas at 7:05 p.m. from the American Bank Center. Proceeds from the evening’s game will benefit Peewee’s Pet Adoption World & Sanctuary, Inc.

“This is a new event that we are trying this year,” said IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn. “We really want to expose women to the game of hockey. More importantly, it’s for a great cause in Peewee’s, which is a no-kill animal shelter.”

The IceRays are presenting a ladies’ night out for female fans and the women of the Corpus Christi area. Starting just inside the entrance to the American Bank Center Arena, a red carpet will be lain for fans to take photographs along. All photographs will be taken by David Olds Fotografie and can be obtained following the evening’s game for a donation. Throughout the night, the concourse will feature wine tasting, and multiple tables from local boutiques, spas, and jewelry stores will promote and sell special offers to fans in attendance. Flowers and t-shirts will be available for a donation, and the arena will have drink specials available. In addition, a few items will be auctioned off during the game, including a special pink “bling” jersey that will be raffled. Proceeds and donations will benefit Peewee’s Pet Adoption World & Sanctuary, Inc.

“We’re eternally grateful,” said Ernie Cochran, the shelter director at Peewee’s. “The donations and event are going to help accomplish our mission, and it’s going to help us make people aware of Peewee’s. We have 750 dogs and 250 cats, and we never have enough food donations. So this will help us save money for other operations and allow us to purchase food with that money. We go through 750 pounds of dog food per day. I cannot hardly express what a wonderful things this is.”

Friday’s game is also a Frosty Friday, during which fans can purchase select beers and sodas for just $1. For more information, please contact the IceRays Front Office at 361-814-PUCK. For more information on how to help Peewee’s, visit www.peeweespets.com.
