Sep 25, 2021

Coming off of a dramatic win on Friday night, the IceRays went into Saturday night in search of their first sweep of the season in the first series of the year.

The Brahmas came out strong out shooting the IceRays by eight in the first period.  Although, they were outshooting the team Lone Star was unable to bury one behind Damon Beaver in the first.

In the second, Lone Star struck early thanks to Blake Benson’s third goal on the weekend.  The Brahmas would stay up one throughout the majority of the period, but Oliver Stumpel would slam home a beautiful feed from Dylan Contreras.

The ice was tilted in the IceRays favor at the end of the second ,and it continued into the third as Corpus scored two goals right away in the period. Stumpel scored the second for the team and his night, and Persson scored the second.  Lone Star would have a rush at the end, but the IceRays would stand tall.

The team came home with a three to one over Lone Star giving the team the first sweep of the season.  The Rays have the weekend off next week before hosting Wichita Falls for a two game set and Odessa for one game.
