AMARILLO, Texas – The Amarillo Bulls (25-3-2-2, 54 pts.) extended their point streak to 20 consecutive games and completed a weekend sweep of the Corpus Christi IceRays with a 4-1 win Sunday at the Budweiser Bull Pen at Amarillo Civic Center.

Jack Smiley scored the lone goal for Corpus Christi (18-15-1-0, 37 pts.), who have dropped four consecutive games for the first time this season, following a junior franchise record nine-game winning streak.

The Bulls snagged the first goal of the game at the 15:40 mark of the first period when Logan Jenuwine scored off a feed from Gabriel Seger.

Amarillo started the second period on a five-minute power play and Trey Bagwell scored three minutes into the opportunity.

Smiley cut the Bulls’ lead in half with a power-play goal 6:24 into the third period, assisted by Blake Bennett and Kyle Moore.

Alex Peterson regained the two-goal lead for Amarillo at 11:54, then Jenuwine completed a three-point night (2+1) with an empty-net goal at 18:50, marking his NAHL-leading 29th tally of the season.

The teams were tied in shots, 31-31. Corpus Christi dropped to 1-5-0-0 this season against the Bulls. The South Division rivals will next meet for a three-game set in Corpus Christi Jan. 25-27.

The IceRays have now completed their season-long stretch of 10 consecutive road games with a 6-4-0-0 record. They now return home for the first time since Dec. 8 to face the Shreveport Mudbugs Jan. 11-12 at American Bank Center. Puck drop both nights is set for 7:05 PM CT.
