NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – Cayden Bailey recorded his NAHL-leading 10th shutout of the season Saturday as the Lone Star Brahmas (37-9-0-1, 75 pts.) defeated the Corpus Christi IceRays (15-27-3-4, 39 pts.) at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

Brahmas defenseman Josh Martin opened the scoring with a slap shot at the 11:11 mark of the first period.

Evan Googins doubled the lead for Lone Star at 7:05 of the second period, firing in a shot from the bottom of the left circle off an end-wall bounce from Joey Baez.

In the third period, Baez scored at 1:44, and assisted on Matt Guerra’s power play goal at 14:40, to complete a three-point night (1+2).

Bailey, who made 17 saves Saturday, has recorded shutouts in four of his five games against the IceRays.

Following the Topeka Pilots’ win Saturday, the IceRays were eliminated from contention for a spot in the 2019-20 NAHL Robertson Cup Playoffs. All four playoff spots in the South Division have now been filled (Amarillo, Lone Star, Shreveport and Topeka, with seeding still to be determined).
