ICERAYS FALL TO BULLS FRIDAY, 4-2

AMARILLO, Texas – The Amarillo Bulls picked up a 4-2 win against the Corpus Christi IceRays Friday night at the Budweiser Bull Pen at Amarillo Civic Center. The Bulls’ special teams had a perfect night, going 2-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

IceRays forward Ryan Coughlin opened the scoring on the game’s first shot at 1:17 of the first period, finishing a play off a net-front feed from Justin Thompson. Later in the period, Jordan Venegoni tied the game for Amarillo with a shot from the right wing at 10:44.

The Bulls grabbed the lead on the game’s first power play when Lauri Sertti’s shot was tipped in by Niclas Puikkonen at 1:33 of the second period.

Sertti then added one of his own on a power play goal at 2:14 of the third period. Nick Trela added a tally to put the Bulls up 4-1 at 11:49. IceRays forward Cole Golden jammed in a rebound with just over six seconds remaining to send the game to a 4-2 final.

Amarillo outshot Corpus Christi 35-29 in the game, including even shot tallies of 13-13 in the second period, and 8-8 in the third period.

The IceRays and Bulls continue their four-game stretch with a 7:05 p.m. faceoff Saturday at the Budweiser Bull Pen at Amarillo Civic Center. The two teams then head to Corpus Christi to battle at the American Bank Center on Thursday, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 8.
