IceRays To Host Shreveport For Three Thursday, Friday and Saturday At American Bank Center

Corpus Christi, Texas – After a week of no games, trades and recharging of the battery, the Corpus Christy IceRays will be back on the ice when they host the Shreveport Mudbugs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7:05 at American Bank Center.

Corpus Christi is 2-2-0, 0SOL in its last four contests and 5-4-0, 1SOL in its last 10 games.

The IceRays will have sort of a new look after trading Anthony Cafarelli to the Oklahoma Warriors for forward Zach Homer, 2024 tender and a 2024 second-round draft pick and sending Mathieu Bourgault to the Bismarck Bobcats for a 2024-25 and 2025-26 third-round draft pick, tender and a player development fee.

The IceRays are coming off a 2-0 victory over the Amarillo Wranglers January 27 at American Bank Center.

It’s the first shutout of the season for the IceRays this season as Bryant Marks had his second straight was solid again between the pipes.

Bourgault and Michael Valdez scored a goal for the IceRays in that victory.

The IceRays are now 14-22-1, 3SOL for 32 points, in eighth place in the NAHL South Division, six points behind the Odessa Jackalopes for seventh, and 15 points behind the New Mexico Ice Wolves for sixth.

Shreveport is tied for second place in points with the El Paso Rhinos with a record of 28-11-0, 2SOL for 58 points, nine points behind the division-leading Lone Star Brahmas.

The IceRays are 3-4-1, 1SOL against Shreveport this season after going 0-8-0, 0SOL against the Mudbugs a year ago.

Corpus Christi beat Shreveport 5-2 on January 6 in Shreveport.

Pierson Sobush leads the IceRays in points with 30 (12 goals, 18 assists). Billy Biedermann is now second with 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists). Stepan Kuznetsov and Zakhar Polshakov each have 18 points. Kuznetsov has scored 10 goals and added eight assists, while Polshakov has collected 10 goals and eight assists.

Haden Nichol leads the Mudbugs with 35 points on 15 goals and 20 assists. Ryan Burke has collected 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. Kyan Haldenby has posted 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points and Nick Marino is fourth on the team in scoring with 30 points (14 goals and 16 assists).

The IceRays were 1-2-0, 0SOL against Shreveport in a three-game series in December, earning a 6-5 shootout win December 2.
