CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The road does not get any easier for the Corpus Christi IceRays (25-11-3) who prepare for a three game series against the Lone Star Brahmas (30-6-3) at the Nytex Sports Center. With the Brahmas sweep of the IceRays this past weekend the Brahmas have won three out of the five games against Corpus Christi in the eight game season series so far.

The Brahmas will host a trio of games kicking off the series on Friday, January 31 followed by a contest on February 1 and finale on February 2. Puck drop on Friday and Saturday is scheduled for 7:30 PM with an afternoon puck drop on Sunday at 2:00 PM. Single game tickets for this weekends games can be found HERE.
Fans can catch the games on NATV or listen on Retro Radio Corpus Christi by downloading the Retro Radio Corpus Christi app on your smartphone and hear the “Voice of the IceRays” Joey Erickson all weekend long. The pregame show on NATV and Retro Radio CC will begin 30 minutes prior to puck drop. Friday night’s game will also be available on KDF-TV Corpus Christi starting at 7:30 PM.

The Brahmas come into the weekend having allowed a league low 57 goals in 39 games this season equaling a 1.46 goals against average. The tandem of Jack Spicer and Ryan Cameron have tended the net for the majority of games this season helping lead the Brahmas to a league high nine shutouts. With Spicer leaving Lone Star to start his collegiate career Cameron has taken over the number one duties and leads the NAHL in GAA and SV% in his 18 starts this year. He has won 11 straight starts including picking up both wins in the Coastal Bend last weekend.
NEW FACES
The Corpus Christi IceRays have acquired Goaltender Bejamin Motew from the Maryland Black Bears for future assets. Motew, a native of Glencoe, Illinois, has played 25 games for the Black Bears this season posting a 2.43 goals against average and .911 save percentage with a 14-9-2 record. Benjamin is commited to the Air Force Academy and played two seasons in the SJHL with the Humboldt Broncos before arriving in Maryland. During his two seasons with the Broncos Motew accumulated a record of 44-16-1.
