Ferdfelt Brings Strong Two-Way Play and Championship Experience
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi IceRays are proud to announce the tendering of forward Vilton Ferdfelt ahead of the upcoming season.
Ferdfelt, a 2007-born center from Sweden, brings a strong two-way game, high-end athleticism, and championship experience to Corpus Christi. Standing at 6-foot-7, and 187-pounds, the skilled center is known for his ability to impact all situations on the ice, particularly on special teams.
During his development in Sweden, Ferdfelt captured a J20 Nationell Swedish National Championship with Djurgårdens IF, one of the country’s premier hockey organizations. His combination of size, skating ability, and hockey IQ has made him a difficult matchup and a valuable asset in both offensive and defensive situations.
“Vilton is a player we’re excited to bring into our organization,” said IceRays Head Coach Nick Skerlick. “He has elite size, moves extremely well for a player his frame, and plays an effective 200-foot game. His experience in Sweden’s top junior system and his ability to contribute on special teams make him a strong addition to our lineup.”
Ferdfelt’s athletic profile and versatility are expected to provide immediate value as the IceRays continue building a competitive roster for the season ahead.
