AMARILLO SQUEAKS BY CORPUS CHRISTI 4-2

Nov 30, 2012

AMARILLO, TX – A late power-play goal in the third, along with a controversial strike in the second period proved too much for the IceRays on Saturday night in Amarillo as the Bulls took game one 4-2 inside the Amarillo Civic Center.

Corpus Christi got on the board in the first period when AJ Jarosz dropped the puck for Perry D’Arrisso who put the IceRays ahead 1-0.

The IceRays took a 2-0 lead when Emil Romig hit Rudy Sulmonte with a pass on a two-on-one rush, sliding it passed Paul Berrafato at the 11:22 mark of the first.

In the second, it was all Amarillo and started 6:11 into the period off the stick of Mike Davis on a rebound splitting the lead in half, 2-1.

Amarillo tied the game on a questionable goal that seemed to go off the inside of the post and back out.  Originally ruled no goal, was overturned by the goal judge to tie the game 2-2.

Tyler Rostenkowski put the Bulls ahead 3-2 for good with 3:39 left in the second with the lone assist to Matt Sieckhaus.

The lone goal in the third period came on the power-play with just 1:15 left in the game.  Ryan Cole was hit with a pass from John Rey and had a wide open net for a two goal lead.

Hayden Stewart stopped 26 of 30 in the loss.
