Sep 19, 2017

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), have hired Alex von Keudell to serve as the team’s next Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations, the team announced today.

“We are very fortunate this late into the season to find someone as qualified as Alex,” said IceRays general manager Pat Dunn. “More importantly, he knows not only the league but also the South Division. The transition should be seamless. We look forward to working with Alex as the IceRays celebrate their 20th Anniversary.”

Von Keudell, 24, spent the last two seasons with the Wichita Falls Wildcats in the NAHL, broadcasting all Wildcats regular season and postseason games on HockeyTV and YouTube while handling media relations, social media  and website management. He was also in a utility role with the Wildcats, designing all digital and print artwork, assisting in game night operations, facilitating community relations operations, and helping lead front office management duties.

Prior to joining the Wildcats, the Chicago, Ill. native was a Broadcast Producer/Announcer for the Peoria Mustangs (NA3HL) and Bradley University Hockey Club, assisting in broadcast production for both organizations as well as providing play-by-play and color commentary. He graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.

“It’s a privilege to join the IceRays organization,” said von Keudell. “I’ve enjoyed visiting Corpus Christi over the past two years, not just for the beauty of the city but also for the electric atmosphere the fans provide at every game. Rob Lippolis and Collin Schuck have built a very strong legacy here as broadcasters, and I look forward to building on that in any way I can.”

Von Keudell handled social media and media management duties during the IceRays opening weekend in Topeka and will join the IceRays in Corpus Christi following the NAHL Showcase. His first broadcast will be the home opener on September 29.

The IceRays begin the NAHL Showcase schedule on Wednesday, Sep. 20 at 2:30 p.m. against the Bismarck Bobcats from Schwan Super Rink 1.
