Two IceRays were listed as honorable mentions for this week’s league stars of the week. Damon Beaver and Stepan Kuznetsov both received the honors for their efforts against El Paso.
Damon Beaver, who was the first star on Stars and Stripes Night at American Bank Center, stopped all but one of the Rhinos attempts on Saturday night. Beaver has now won two of his last three starts. This makes it back to back weeks with an IceRay goaltender earning honors for their efforts.
Kuznetsov also earned the honor for his performance against his former team. With three points on the weekend, Kuznetsov nearly doubled his total points with the Rays in one weekend. He now sits at eleven total points on the season, which include seven in eleven games with Corpus Christi
The IceRays return to the ice this weekend in Amarillo to face off against the second place Wranglers. Both games can be found on HockeyTV and Brewster Street Radio.
