BROADCASTER RYAN HOLT ACCEPTS POSITION WITH BAKERSFIELD CONDORS

Aug 21, 2011

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX- Corpus Christi IceRays general manager Pat Dunn announced today that broadcaster Ryan Holt has accepted a new position as the Media Relations and Broadcasting Manager for the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.  Holt leaves for California immediately to prepare for the upcoming 2011-12 Condors season.  A search for his replacement has already begun.

Holt, 23, departs Corpus Christi after spending the inaugural 2010-11 NAHL season with the IceRays as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster and head of media relations.

“I cannot stress enough how much of a first-class organization from top to bottom the IceRays are,” said Holt.  “I am so thankful for the opportunity that Pat Dunn gave to me last September and have gotten so much more from my time in Corpus Christi than I ever could have imagined.  Everyone, from our tight-knit office staff to the fans of the team, welcomed me and made me feel truly at home in Corpus Christi.  I will miss heading to the American Bank Center and being around Corpus Christi every day.”

The Boston, MA native heads for Bakersfield where he will be responsible for many duties inside the team’s communications department as well as serving as a play-by-play broadcaster and color commentator on the team’s radio, online, and television broadcasts.

He becomes the third former IceRays broadcaster currently in the ECHL. Former broadcasters Josh Bogorad (Alaska Aces) and Mike Modugno (Kalamazoo Wings) both are in the league and saw their teams meet in the Kelly Cup Final last season.

“The IceRays want to wish Ryan all the best in Bakersfield as he begins his new position,” said Dunn.  “We’d like to thank him for his hard work in Corpus Christi and we’re excited for him.”

Corpus Christi drops the puck on the 2011-12 season at the Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase on September 14th in Blaine, MN against the Dawson Creek Rage.  The team will also meet the Michigan Warriors, Wenatchee Wild, and Minot Minotauros at the showcase before the team opens their home schedule at the American Bank Center on September 23rd against the Odessa Jackalopes.
