CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Corpus Christi IceRays hockey team and Lorelei Brewing Company unveiled Thursday a new beer ready to tap into the Coastal Bend next week: “IceRays Celly,” a crisp, clean and refreshing Kölsch-style ale.

IceRays Celly features subtle fruit flavors, light bitterness with a moderate, cracker-malt finish. The recipe was developed over the summer through the collaboration of Lorelei Brewing’s expert beer crafters and members of the IceRays’ staff.
“We are excited to break out our Celly – Kölsch style for a toast of gratitude and celebration of our newfound partnership and friends, the Corpus Christi IceRays,” said Varian Criser, founder and head brewer of Lorelei Brewing Company. “Cheers to hard work, fun, and a unified vision of a great beer that all walks of life can enjoy.”
The craft beer will be available at all IceRays home games, including the Home Opener one week from today, at the Texas Bar and the Brew Bar, each located on the first-floor concourse of the American Bank Center. Season ticket members will receive the first opportunity to try IceRays Celly at an exclusive meet-the-team event this Monday night. IceRays Celly will be available, through kegs and 19.2 ounce cans, in different bars and venues throughout the Coastal Bend, including Lou’s Saloon, Vernon’s, Executive Surf Club, and Lorelei Brewing Company’s Taproom and Beer Garden, with more locations to be announced. Cans will be hitting store shelves after the first of the year.

The IceRays wrap up their season-starting, 11-game road trip this weekend with games Friday (7:15 PM), Saturday (7:15 PM) and Sunday (5:00 PM) at the Odessa Jackalopes. All three game broadcasts will be carried live on Sportsradio Corpus Christi, HockeyTV and Mixlr. Next week, the two teams shift to Corpus Christi for another three-game set, including the IceRays’ Home Opener Thursday, Oct. 10 at the American Bank Center.
