Corpus Christi IceRays Back On The Ice Against Odessa at American Bank Center

Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi IceRays will be back in action following the holiday break against the Odessa Jackalopes Friday and Saturday Night at 7:05 at the American Bank Center.

The IceRays are hungry for a victory having lost five straight.

Corpus Christi is 9-18-1, 2 OTL for 21 points and in eighth place in the NAHL South Division Standings.

The IceRays are 2-7-0, 1 SOL in their last 10 contests and in need of putting together some wins and points to move up in the standings.

“The break was great for everyone, and it was nice to be with family,” IceRays head coach Sylvain Cloutier said.”

Odessa is 13-12-2, 2 SOL for 30 points, tied with the Oklahoma Warriors for sixth place.

“Obviously it’s a big weekend for both teams, but it’s so nice to be able to play at home,” Cloutier said.

The Jackalopes own a pair of victories over the IceRays, 4-1 on December 8 at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa with Cody Kempf netting the lone IceRays goal.

Odessa posted a 6-3 win the next night, December 9. Pierson Sobush scored a pair of goals with Mathieu Bourgault adding the other.

Sobush leads the IceRays with 25 points on 10 goals and 15 assists.

Anthony Cafarelli is the team’s top goal scorer with 11 goals to go along with 11 assists for 22 points.

Bourgault has posted five goals and collected 16 assists for 21 points.

“Hopefully we figured it out over the holidays that we need to play for 60 minutes,” Cloutier said.

Cameron Dunn leads Odessa with eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points.

Michael Kadlecik has nine goals and 12 points for 21 points, while Hayden DeMars is the Jackalopes top goal scorer with 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points.
