Corpus Christi IceRays Close Out Road Schedule With A Pair In New Mexico

Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi IceRays will conclude their stretch of six-straight games on the road, and their road schedule when they take on the New Mexico Ice Wolves Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. CDT at the Outpost Ice Arenas.

The IceRays are 3-1 in the recent road stretch after falling 4-1 at the hands of the host Oklahoma Warriors last Saturday night at the Blazers Ice Centre in Oklahoma City.

Corpus Christi has won three of its last four games and is 5-7-0, 0SOL in its last 12 games, 6-12-0, 0SOL in its last 18 contests and 10-15-0, 1SOL in its last 26 games.

Overall, the IceRays are 19-32-2, 3SOL for 43 points, in eighth place in the NAHL South Division, six points behind the Odessa Jackalopes for seventh, and 18 points behind the Warriors for sixth.

New Mexico is 30-18-6, 2SOL and tied for fourth place in the NAHL South with the Amarillo Wranglers with 68 points.

“This should be a good weekend of hockey,” IceRays Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier said.

Pierson Sobush continues to lead the IceRays with 38 points (18 goals, 20 assists).

Zakhar Polshakov has 28 points on eight goals and 20 assists.

Stepan Kuznetsov has 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points.

Graham Harris and Yusaku Ando lead New Mexico with 56 points.

Harris has 14 goals and 42 assists, while Ando has scored 19 goals to go along with 37 assists.

Lorenzo Rossi is expected to make his first start in goal for the IceRays after going 10-2 with Philadelphia HC 18U.

“Hopefully we will come out and play hard in front of him,” Cloutier said.
