Corpus Christi IceRays Host New Mexico For A Weekend Pair

Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi IceRays are back home this weekend when the team plays host to the New Mexico Ice Wolves Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. CST at American Bank Center.

Corpus Christi is 3-7-0, 0SOL in its last nine contests and 6-9-0, 1SOL in its last 16 games.

Overall, the IceRays are 15-27-1, 3SOL for 34 points, in eighth place in the NAHL South Division, eight points behind the Odessa Jackalopes for seventh, and 17 points behind the Oklahoma Warriors for sixth.

“Every weekend in our division is tough,” IceRays Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier said.

New Mexico is in fifth place in the NAHL South at 22-15-6, 2SOL with 52 points, one point ahead of the Oklahoma Warriors.

The IceRays are coming off a tough 4-3 loss on the road against the Lone Star Brahmas on Monday and a 3-1 win at Shreveport February 17.

Pierson Sobush leads the way for the IceRays with 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists).

Billy Biederman has eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points while Zakhar Polshakov has six goals and 15 assists for 21 points.

Stepan Kuznetsov has scored 10 goals and added eight assists for 18 points.

Yusaku Ando has collected 47 points on 14 goals and 33 assists.

Ryan Johnson has notched 25 goals and 20 assists for 45 points. Graham Harris is third on the team with nine goals and 34 assists for 43 points.

Corpus Christi is 1-2-0, 1SOL against New Mexico this season, while the Ice Wolves are 3-1-0, 0SOL against the IceRays.

“There are never any easy games, but we need to be good at home in front of our fans,” Cloutier said.
