Corpus Christi IceRays open the season at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine Minnesota

Blaine, Minnesota – The Corpus Christi IceRays started their season in the North American Hockey League standings with a score of 2-5 resulting in a loss on Wednesday, September 14th against the Philadelphia Rebels at Rink 2 of the Schwan Super Rink.

First Period Action

At 11:57 in the first period, Oliver Band of the Rebels scores and is assisted by Greg Spitznagel.

IceRays #4 Dominic Foglia scored at 14:15 of the period and was assisted by #81 Peteris Purmalis.

With 18:29 left in the period, the third goal of the game was scored by Matt Lewis of the Rebels and assisted by Dylan Blue.

Goalie #1 Stefan Carney of the IceRays faced 14 shots on goal while the IceRays managed 11 shots on Rebel’s goaltender Jakub Krbecek.

Second Period Action

Rebels scored another power play goal at Oliver Band and Maxwell Marquette.

The goaltenders faced a total of 15 shots on goal, #1 Stefan Carney saw 8 of those.
