Corpus Christi IceRays play second game in NAHL Showcase in Blaine Minnesota against the Chippewa Steel

Blaine, Minnesota – The Corpus Christi IceRays played their second game of the season in the North American Hockey League resulting in a score of 0-3 in a loss on Thursday, September 15th against the Chippewa Steel at the Schwan Super Rink.

First Period Action

No goals were scored in the first period, but the first period had plenty of hard hitting action.

IceRays goaltender #41 Carter Wishar started the game in net and faced 18 shots, while the IceRays managed 7 shots on the Steel’s goalie, #35 Thomas Kiesewetter.

Early in the period at the 5:43 mark, Chippewa Steel’s #7 Parker Gnos received a 2min minor Slashing penalty. Later in the period at the 12:56 mark, a 2min minor High-Sticking penalty was given to #20 Oliver Stumpel of the Chorpus Christi Rays.

Second Period Action

The second period started with the IceRay’s #93 Jackson Beach receiving a 2min minor penalty for Holding.

The Chippewa Steel received two 2min minor penalties for Tripping by #3 Otto Humble at the 10:00 minute mark and the other by #21 Shawn Ramsey at the 18:48 minute mark.

The goaltenders faced a total of 17 shots on goal. The IceRays #35 Thomas Kiesewetter saw 9 shots while the Steel’s goalie #41 Carter Wishart faced 8.

No goals were scored in the second period.

Third Period Action

Early in the third period, the first goal of the game was scored by the Steel’s #25 Hudson Zinda and assisted by #15 Cody Kempf.

Then at the 8:33 mark, #96 Ryan Remick scored the second goal of the period while assisted by #19 J.J. Grainda and #73 Sam Rice.

IceRays Goaltender Carter Wishar faced 41 shots on goal while the IceRays total shots on Goal was 17.
