Corpus Christi IceRays To Face Odessa Jackalopes On Road For Weekend Series

Corpus Christi, Texas – It’s been a long time in the making, but the Corpus Christi IceRays will finally face off against the Odessa Jackalopes Friday and Saturday night at 7:15 CST at the Ector County Coliseum.

The Jackalopes are the only team the IceRays have yet to face in the NAHL South Division.

“We finally get to play Odessa,” IceRays head coach Sylvan Cloutier said. “It should be a very competitive weekend.”

Corpus Christi is coming off a 1-2 weekend against the Shreveport Mudbugs at the American Bank Center, including a 3-0 loss December 3.

The IceRays are in eighth place in the South Division at 9-14-1, 2 SOL for 21 points.

Odessa is one spot ahead in seventh at 10-10-2, 2 SOL for 24 points as the two teams are trying to head up the ladder towards one of the playoff spots.

“Both teams are fighting to get that last playoff spot,” Cloutier said. “We will need to be extremely disciplined, and hopefully we get the points we need.”

Pierson Sobush leads Corpus Christi with 21 points (eight goals and 13 assists).

Anthony Cafarelli is the leading goal scorer for the IceRays with 11 goals to go along with 10 assists for 21 points.

Mathieu Borgault has four goals and 15 assists for 19 points.

Cameron Dunn leads Odessa with 19 points (five goals, 14 assists).

Hayden DeMars paces the Jackalopes with nine goals and has added six assists for 15 points.

Michael Kadlecik has scored six goals and collected eight assists for 14 points.
