Corpus Christi IceRays To Host Colorado Grit Friday And Sunday At American Bank Center

Corpus Christi, Texas – The Corpus Christi IceRays will play host to the Colorado Grit Friday night at 7:05 p.m. CST and Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the American Bank Center.

The IceRays fell to the New Mexico Ice Wolves 3-2 in overtime February 24 at home.

Corpus Christi is 1-4-0, 0SOL in its last five games, 3-9-0, 0SOL in its last 12 contests and 6-11-0, 1SOL in its last 18 games.

Overall, the IceRays are 15-28-2, 3SOL for 35 points, in eighth place in the NAHL South Division, 11 points behind the Odessa Jackalopes for seventh, and 19 points behind the Oklahoma Warriors for sixth.

Colorado is in ninth place in the NAHL South at 9-30-3, 2SOL with 23 points, 12 points behind the IceRays.

Colorado is 1-4-0, 0SOL in its last five games.

“We finally get to play a different team,” IceRays Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier said. “It’ll be nice for the fans and our boys to see someone different. It should be a good weekend of hockey.”

Pierson Sobush leads the IceRays with 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists).

Zakhar Polshakov has 23 points on seven goals and 16 assists.

Stepan Kuznetsov has scored 13 goals and added eight assists for 21 points and is tied with Billy Biedermann, who has eight goals and 13 assists.

Noah Grolnic leads Colorado with 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.

Bowen Burke has scored seven goals and added 13 assists for 20 points.

Corpus Christi and Colorado split two contests in November with Colorado winning the first game 5-0 November 24, and the IceRays coming back to win 7-3 November 25.
