MESS WITH THE RHINO, GET THE HORN
The IceRays have yet to defeat the Rhinos in six meetings this season, earning just one point in a 5-4 overtime loss in El Paso. Despite averaging over 38 shots per game, the IceRays have managed only six goals.
It’s been 160 days since the Rhinos last appeared at the Hilliard Center, where they swept the IceRays with a 5-3 win back in October. El Paso has dominated the season series on the power play, scoring seven goals with the man advantage. All seven came in the four games played in West Texas. The Rhinos enter the weekend ranked second in the NAHL, with a power play operating at 26% this season.
SHORTY MAGIC
Nick Sinani recorded his first career multi-goal game in the IceRays’ 6-2 win over Lone Star. He did so in unconventional fashion, scoring both goals while the IceRays were shorthanded.
The Northville, Michigan native extended his team lead to four shorthanded goals this season, tying for the second-most in a single season in Corpus Christi history. Brendan Miller (2017–18) and Nathan Butler (2021–22) share the franchise record with five in their respective seasons.
PARICKA PAIR
IceRays forward Andrej Paricka also posted a two-goal performance in the team’s latest win over the Brahmas. Paricka now has four multi-goal games this season after recording just one across his previous two NAHL seasons.
The Slovakian leads the IceRays with 17 goals and 42 points in 50 games this season, both career highs. He has recorded 35 points in 35 games with Corpus Christi since being acquired from Shreveport in November.
