OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Now back in 1st place in the South Division the Corpus Christi IceRays (12-3-1) look to build off last week’s sweep heading into another road series against the Oklahoma Warriors (6-10-3). This weekend will begin an eight game season series that spans until February with the final two games taking place at the Blazers Ice Centre. Oklahoma is coming off a sweep of the Shreveport Mudbugs by a combined score of 9-5 and welcome Corpus Christi as they wrap up a four-game home stand.

BACK ON VOLSKY
IceRays Goalie Nikita Volsky turned in another fantastic weekend between the pipes for Corpus Christi in both wins over the Colorado Grit. He made a combined 56 saves on 59 shots in the two games which included an overtime victory on Saturday. It was the first overtime win for Corpus Christi this season bringing Volsky’s win total up to 11 which is tied for 1st place in the NAHL. He also ranks 2nd in save percentage with a mark of 0.950 despite facing a total of 406 shots which is the the 8th most in the league so far this season. Volsky is the only goalie that ranks in the top 10 in both GAA and SV% that has faced over 400 shots this year.
SWEET LIFE OF CODY
Third year Forward Cody Kempf has found his scoring touch recently with three goals over his last four games. He scored goals in both games against Colorado last season bringing his total to five in 16 games this season. Kempf is halfway to his career high point total set last season at 16 where he finished with 10 goals during the 2023-24 campaign. The Verona, Wisconsin native only trails Pierson Sobush on the team in shots with 37 this season.
MAX OUT
Lake Superior State commit and Defenseman Max Ranstrom picked up three assists last weekend in Colorado bumping his team lead point total among rear guards to 14 points. He had gone a season high two games without a point heading into the weekend. Ranstrom is tied for 7th in the NAHL amongst Defenseman scoring this season with just five of his points coming on the power play. At five on five, Ranstrom is top five in the NAHL with nine points through 15 games.
