FIVE ICERAYS SELECTED TO TOP PROSPECTS TOURNAMENT

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays will be well represented during the 2012 Top Prospects Showcase in the North American Hockey League after having five players selected to compete in the event.

IceRays players will be on the South Division team, and the U18 Selects.

Brandon Smith and Anthony Stolarz will take the ice with the U18 Selects.  The team is made up of the best players in the NAHL under the age of 18.

Three other players from Corpus Christi will play on the South Division squad.  Perry D’Arrisso, Frank Misuraca, and Beau Walker were all chosen by the league.

“On behalf of the entire organization we would like to congratulate the 5 players representing the IceRays at this year’s Top Prospect Event,” said head coach Justin Quenneville.  “I am proud of the players who got recognized and having 5 players represent our young team speaks volume of the leagues initiative to award deserving players.  We look forward to our guys representing the team to best abilities and drawing additional attention in the recruiting world.”

The Top Prospects Tournament takes place February 20-22 in Troy, Michigan.  On February 20th,the South Division will play the Central Division at 4:00PM EST.  On February 21st, the South Division takes on the Midwest Division at 7:00PM EST.  The final game on February 22nd will see the South Division facing off with the West Division at 9:00AM EST. 

The U18 Selects kick off the tournament on February 20th against the West Division at 7:00PM EST.  February 21st the U18 Selects play the Central Division at 1:00PM EST.  In the final game on February 22nd the U18 Selects take on the Midwest Division at 12:00PM EST.

The IceRays are home this Thursday and Friday night against the Wichita Falls Wildcats.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
