May 24, 2011

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX- Corpus Christi IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn announced today that the team has signed their final tender for the 2011-12 season.  The tender signing is defenseman Frank Misuraca, who becomes the team’s ninth and final tender signing.  Misuraca joins forwards Joe Ginley, Dmitry Ermakov, Chistian Elsborg, Eric Purcell; defensemen Chris Taff, Payden Mielke, Matt Wurst; and goaltender Cameron Holland on the final tender list.  To view the team’s tender signings, visit http://goicerays.pointstreaksites.com/view/goicerays/the-icerays/2011-tender-list.

The signed tenders have been added to a protected list of 15 veterans who are holdovers from last year’s team.  The total of 24 protected players means that the IceRays will have six draft picks in Thursday’s NAHL Entry Draft in order to get their initial roster to a maximum of 30 players.  The draft commences at 1 PM CST.

Misuraca is a 5’11” 195 lb. defenseman who spent the past two seasons playing for the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League (USHL).  Born in September of 1991, the Clinton Township, MI native will be a 20-year old veteran at the start of the season.  In his first full season of USHL hockey, Misuraca played 46 games with one goal and five assists for six points.  In 2009-10, Misuraca split time between Kent Prep in Connecticut and the Stars, appearing in 10 games late in the season with the USHL squad.
