TONIGHT’S GAME …The IceRays finish out the weekend series tonight against Odessa. Last night, the Jackalopes controlled the beginning of the game, getting scoring chances, and hitting a cross-bar. In the end, Corpus Christi prevailed and looks to do the same tonight. With last night’s win, the Rays’ moved to an even .500 record and pulled ten points in front of 5th place Wichita Falls for the final playoff spot in the South Division. Odessa changed netminder for the second time in three games they have faced the IceRays as Phil Heinle finished the game after replacing Nick Deery in the second period. The IceRays seek their fourth sweep of the year, and second in three weeks, as Odessa wants back into the win column.
THE SERIES…Tonight’s game is the fourth meeting between the IceRays and Jackalopes this season.
– Season series: IceRays leads 3-0
ADD TWO MORE… Perry D’Arrissoracked up two more goals in last night’s 6-4 win over the Jacks’. It was his 5th and 6th goal and 11th point in the past five games.
PLAYOFF RACE… Corpus Christi is now 10pts in front of Wichita Falls after the win over Odessa and the Wildcats loss to Topeka.
NOT THE AVERAGE 1ST GOAL… John Roisumnotched his first NAHL goal last night in unusual fashion. An outlet attempt by Odessa defender John Feemster went off the back of Phil Heinle and into the net. The last person to touch the puck was Roisum, who was credited with his first NAHL strike.
COMMITTING… Current IceRays forward Beau Walker and former IceRay Dmitry Ermakov have both committed to top D3 schools. Walker will attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point wile Ermakov will skate for Norwich, who currently is ranked #1 in the country.
