HEART NIGHT RETURNS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

Feb 22, 2017

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – After a successful debut of a new specialty night last season, Heart Night returns to the American Bank Center this Saturday, Feb. 25 when the Corpus Christi IceRays take on the Lone Star Brahmas at 7:05 p.m. to close out the two-game weekend set.

Heart Night, presented this season by AEP Texas, Ford, FSG, H-E-B, the Carrol Richard Family and Roto-Rooter of Victoria, Texas, began last season with a two-fold purpose. Scott McClarren, IceRays Director of Special Events, proposed the idea for a theme night in order to raise awareness for hearth health and to aid others and families who have gone through heart heath issues after suffering a heart attack of his own just a few years ago. The IceRays, led by General Manager Pat Dunn, then added to the event by honoring his best friend and making the night into one of the team’s four specialty jersey nights to close February. After a warm response and raising over $14,000, Heart Night returns.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing back Heart Night this season after last season’s success,” said Dunn. “We’re thankful to not only have the opportunity to continue to promote healthy living through our game and our athletes but also be able to share a optimistic, personal story that’s affected the entire organization. The American Heart Association has been great to work with over the last two years, and helping their cause once again was a no-brainer from a wellness and personal standpoint.”

For the second season, the IceRays host Heart Night in the final weekend of February to close out Heart Month in an effort to help make a final push for heart health awareness. New heart-themed specialty jerseys will be worn for both games starting on Friday night and will be auctioned off to the public following Saturday’s game in the Eddie Jackson, New York Life Post-Game Jersey Auction in Section 112 of the American Bank Center. This is one of two remaining specialty jersey weekends for the rest of the 2016-17 season. In addition, there will also be a silent auction through the end of the second intermission on the concourse with a 50/50 raffle throughout the stands during the game. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Heart Association.

Also, Saturday’s game is a Corpus Christi Caller-Times Family 4-Pack Night. Fans can purchase four tickets at the arena box office and receive vouchers for four hot dogs and four sodas for just $48. Plus, there will be an IceRays Post-Game Skate, presented by Braselton Homes, immediately following the game and during the jersey auction. Tickets are available at the American Bank Center Box Office or online at www.Ticketmaster.com. For group or suite packages, call the IceRays Front Office at 361-814-PUCK.

The IceRays continue their four-week home stand on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:05 p.m. from the American Bank Center when they open the weekend against the Lone Star Brahmas.
