HOCKEY & HEELS NIGHT RETURNS THIS WEEKEND

Feb 10, 2016

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays welcome the return of Hockey & Heels Night this weekend in the midst of their first three home games of February starting on Thursday evening when they take on the Lone Star Brahmas for the final time at the American Bank Center this season.

The IceRays Front Office was inspired by the Sunday editorial section in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times written by multiple authors that focused on the Women’s Shelter of South Texas and how they impacted the Corpus Christi community with their work for those in need. The IceRays welcome back Hockey & Heels Night with a new focus: to see how the organization could help the Women’s Shelter of South Texas continue their work while raising awareness for the shelter and their efforts. Hockey & Heels comes back for the second-straight year this Saturday, Feb. 13.

Fans are encouraged to bring with them new toiletries and diapers to donate on their way into the building during all three games including Saturday. There will also be a silent auction table and a 50/50 raffle with those donations and proceeds benefitting the Women’s Shelter of South Texas. Saturday is also a Corpus Christi Caller-Times Family 4-Pack Night, so fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $46. That offer is available at any location where IceRays tickets are sold. Fans can finish the evening with a Post-Game Skate, presented by Braselton Homes.

The three-game set kicks off on Thursday night with the final Winning Weekday of the 2015-16 season. Those looking to come to the game can receive buy-one, get-one free tickets available through the American Bank Center Box Office. Friday night is a recognition of local educators in the Corpus Christi area on Teacher Appreciation Night, and these men and women are invited to join the festivities. Friday’s game is also a Frosty Friday with one-dollar beer and soda throughout the game capped off by a Post-Game Skate, presented by Braselton Homes.

This weekend is the second and final meeting against the Lone Star Brahmas at the American Bank Center this season. In their previous three-in-three set in November, the IceRays claimed a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory at the Kids’ Day Game before being bested in the final two games of the weekend. The two sides played back-to-back close games last weekend and finish out their five-game schedule in the Coastal Bend. All three games begin at 7:11 p.m. with doors opening one hour prior to faceoff. Tickets are still available at www.Ticketmaster.com, the American Bank Center Box Office, and at the IceRays Front Office. Coverage of all three games begins at 6:55 p.m. with Countdown to Faceoff on SportsJuice.com, FASTHockey.com, and 87.7FM in-arena.
