Minnesota Native has Recorded 22 Points in 29 Career Games in the NAHL
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) have announced a trade with the Minnesota Mallards, acquiring forward Parker Deschene in exchange for defenseman Dominic Somma.
Deschene, 19, spent the 2025-26 season between Minnesota and the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks in the NAHL, where he combined for 21 points (13 goals, 8 assists) in 27 games. He also appeared in 15 games for the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks, recording four points.
The Otsego, Minnesota, native has put together an impressive offensive résumé throughout his junior hockey career. Prior to his NAHL experience, Deschene recorded 74 points (19 goals, 55 assists) in 28 games with Rogers High School during the 2024-25 season. He is a right-shot forward and is committed to continue his playing career at Lindenwood University.
“We’re excited to welcome Parker to Corpus Christi,” said head coach Nick Skerlick. “He’s a skilled, competitive forward who has already gained valuable experience at the junior level. His offensive ability and familiarity with the NAHL will be important additions to our group.”
In exchange, the IceRays send defenseman Dominic Somma to Minnesota. Somma, 19, suited up for the IceRays in three of the first four games this season.
The IceRays organization welcomes Parker Deschene to Corpus Christi and looks forward to seeing him in an IceRays uniform.
