IceRays and Jackalops Collide in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Twelve games remain in the regular season and the Corpus Christi IceRays (29-14-4) are vying for a first round bye to begin the Robertson Cup playoffs. Work is still be done as the IceRays prepare for a two week stretch of their final five games at the American Bank Center this season beginning with a series against the Odessa Jackalopes (20-22-4). The weekend kicks off on Friday, February 28 with Hockey Fights Cancer Night presented by ArcelorMittal and finishes with Scout Night on Sunday, March 2.

BROADCAST / GAME INFORMATION 

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 on Friday with tickets starting at $15 with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Hockey Fights Cancer organization. The IceRays will also being wearing specialty jerseys that can be purchased at an auction currently taking place. For those interested in bidding on a game worn jersey click HERE. It is also Frost Friday at the arena which means beer and popcorn is $6 at the Ultra Lounge.

Sunday’s contest has a scheduled puck drop of 3:05 and a Scout package is available for $30 which includes a ticket, a hot dog, a soda, and a wrist band for a post-game skate with the IceRays and an exclusive Scout patch! Fans can catch the games on NATV or listen on Retro Radio Corpus Christi by downloading the Retro Radio Corpus Christi app on your smartphone and hear the “Voice of the IceRays” Joey Erickson all weekend long. The pregame show on NATV and Retro Radio CC will begin 30 minutes prior to puck drop. Fridays game will also be broadcasted on KDF-TV Corpus Christi. 

HELLO OL’ FRIEND

IceRays Defenseman Caden Morgan will get a look at his former team for the first time since being acquired by Corpus Christi in early February. In 47 games with the Jacks dating back to the 2023-24 season Morgan accumulated 17 points including six goals. Since joining the IceRays Morgan has picked up four points in seven games while being a steady presence on the blue line for Corpus Christi. He experienced a first last week in Oklahoma by participating in his first fight in the NAHL.

REACHING NEW HIGHS

IceRays Forward Stepan Kuznetsov has already set all-time franchise records this season for goals scored and games played, but that has not slowed him down as he set a new personal record last Saturday. With a goal and assist against the Warriors Kuznetsov cracked a new career high with 34 points this season passing his previous high of 32 point last season. His 21 assists this season is also a career high to go along with a high of 108 penalty minutes. His fourth season in Corpus Christi has been an active one and will have the opportunity to play in the postseason for the first time this year.
