IceRays and Wranglers Battle in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX – Only 16 games remain in the regular season for the Corpus Christi IceRays (27-13-3) who make their first and only trip to the Texas Panhandle this year to take on the Amarillo Wranglers (16-22-4) in a weekend series at the Amarillo Civic Center. The IceRays swept the Wranglers in the first meeting in the Coastal Bend back in early January outscoring Amarillo nine to four in the series. 

BROADCAST / GAME INFORMATION

The Wranglers will host a pair of games at the Budweiser Bull Pen on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 with puck drop scheduled at 7:14 CT on both nights. Single game tickets for both games can be purchased HERE

HOSER CUP UPDATE

The IceRays enter the weekend at the top of the Hoser Cup standings with 11 out of the possible 24 points available this season with eight games remaining in the cup race. The next six straight games for Corpus Christi will come against opponents trying to track down the IceRays who have a commanding lead and a chance to close out the competition with a sweep of Amarillo and taking one of their final two games against Oklahoma the following week. The next closest team to Corpus Christi is Odessa who has seven points with seven games remaining.

Last time out against New Mexico the IceRays took care of the Ice Wolves on home ice being led by IceRays Forward Cooper Conway who went off for a pair of goals and added an assist in the 4-1 victory. It was the third multi-goal game and eleventh multi-point night of the season for the Andover, Minnesota native who now has 15 goals this season ranking second on the team. Since joining Corpus Christi, Conway has 28 points in 27 games including five goals on the power play that only trails Forward Pierson Sobush who has seven on the man advantage.
