CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League will conclude their preparation for the 2015-16 season with a pre-season friendly game on Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. from the NYTEX Sports Center in North Richland Hills, Texas.
The matchup will be the sole pre-season game for the IceRays before they open the 2015-16 season on Friday, September 18 against the Topeka RoadRunners from Landon Arena. The format will simulate a regular season game with three 20-minute periods and two intermissions in order to give the coaching staffs a better look at their team. Last year, the IceRays played a home-and-home series against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in preparation for a successful 2014-15 campaign.
The Brahmas enter the 2015-16 season as the reigning South Division Champions following a 40-12-8 campaign en route to an appearance in the Robertson Cup Semifinals against the Austin Bruins. In the playoffs, the Brahmas earned a 7-3 record while only losing once against Wenatchee and Topeka combined. The Bruins upset their chances at a Robertson Cup Finals berth by winning the series 2-1, including an overtime win in Game 3 to clinch the series. Their successes on the ice helped them to earn South Division Organization of the Year.
Coverage of the friendly will begin at 6:50 p.m. with an abbreviated Countdown to Faceoff just before the opening faceoff on the IceRays’ flagship station, SportsRadio Corpus Christi (KSIX 1230AM).
