Feb 4, 2014

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays along with AutoNation Ford have teamed up to help cheer on Team USA during the 2014 Winter Olympics by hosting “Olympic Month” starting this Thursday night and continuing all throughout the month of February.  In honor of the Olympic games, the ‘Rays will wear specialty Team USA jerseys for every game during February.

“We are excited to unveil our Team USA jerseys as we are just a few days from the start of the Winter Games,” said IceRays general manager Pat Dunn.  “We are able to show our support to the men’s and women’s hockey team throughout the Olympics due to the generosity of former IceRays alumni Brad Erbsland, who was kind enough to purchase the jerseys. We are looking forward to the 2014 Winter Olympic games, and our players will be excited to wear the jerseys as it's their goal to one day participate in them.”

For all home and away games in the month of February, the IceRays will wear the jersey.

“The Olympics are always an exciting time of year especially when it's Olympic hockey,” said Brad Erbsland.  A former IceRay and now with AutoNation Ford.  “I think what Pat Dunn and the IceRays are doing with honoring Team USA and wearing the jerseys is a fabulous way of showing support. I'm excited, being an ex-IceRay to be able to take part in it on behalf of myself and AutoNation Ford. We wish the IceRays and Team USA a very successful February and look forward to some very exciting hockey!”

The jerseys will be revealed for the first time LIVE tomorrow morning beginning at 5:00AM on the Kiii 3 News Morning Show.

The IceRays home this Thursday and Friday night against the Topeka RoadRunners.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on sportsjuice.com, ustream.com, and fasthockey.com.
