Recorded 26 Points in over 140 Games in the NAHL
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi IceRays are proud to announce that defenseman Joel Hanson has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, an NCAA Division III program competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
Hanson brought experience and stability to the IceRays blue line, appearing in 18 games with Corpus Christi during his junior career. Prior to joining the IceRays, Hanson played 126 games with the Kenai River Brown Bears, showcasing his durability and consistency at the NAHL level. Over the course of his junior career, he totaled 26 points from the blue line.
“Joel is a steady, reliable defenseman who has put in the work to earn this opportunity,” said IceRays Head Coach Ryan Gil. “He brings experience, composure, and a strong understanding of the game. We’re excited to see him take the next step at Wisconsin–Eau Claire.”
At Wisconsin–Eau Claire, Hanson will join a competitive WIAC program known for its high level of play in NCAA Division III hockey. His experience and defensive presence will be a valuable addition to the Blugolds’ roster.
“I’m honored to commit to the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire,” said Hanson. “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for supporting me throughout my journey. I’m excited for this next chapter both academically and athletically.”
