Veteran Reaches 100 Career Games and Posts Career High 20 Points

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi IceRays are proud to announce that defenseman Sam Troutwine has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Skidmore College, an NCAA Division III program within the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Troutwine has enjoyed a breakout 2025–26 campaign with the IceRays, recording a career-high 20 points while serving as a dependable presence on the blue line. Earlier this season, he also reached a significant milestone, skating in his 100th career game in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), a testament to his durability and commitment at the junior level.

“Sam has been an important part of our group, both on and off the ice,” said IceRays Head Coach Ryan Gil. “Reaching 100 games in this league is no small feat, and his development this season speaks volumes about the work he’s put in. We’re excited to see him continue his career at Skidmore.”

Known for his work ethic, versatility, and leadership qualities, Troutwine has consistently contributed in all situations for the IceRays. His commitment to Skidmore reflects his growth as a player and his dedication to excelling in both academics and athletics.

“I’m super excited to be able to continue my hockey career as well as earning my degree at Skidmore. Thank you to the organization (Corpus Christi) for helping me get to this point, said Troutwine.”

The IceRays organization congratulates Sam on this achievement and looks forward to following his continued success at the collegiate level.
