IceRays Drop Home Game For First Time This Season

Oct 9, 2021

A five game home stand to start the divisional schedule for the IceRays had the team rolling.  Corpus Christi was 3-0 against the South Division heading into Saturday night at American Bank Center.

The IceRays controlled the first few minutes of the first period.  Wichita Falls had evened it back out, but when Brady Carlock held the blue line and got the puck to Nathan Butler, the IceRays would strike first off the stick of Cam Crolley.

The Rays would only have the lead for 23 seconds, though, as the Warriors struck back. The two teams would remained tied into the first and second intermissions.

In the third, the Warriors would strike just over two minutes in to give themselves their first lead of the evening.  The IceRays would have multiple chances on the power play in the third period but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Warriors would add an empty netter and leave Corpus Christi with a 3-1 victory and split series.

The IceRays weekend is not done yet as they host the Odessa Jackalopes tomorrow afternoon.  Puck drop is scheduled for 3:05 pm.
