ICERAYS FALL TO AMARILLO 6-3

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Powered by a big third period, Amarillo earned a 6-3 victory over the Corpus Christi IceRays Friday night inside the American Bank Center.

Corpus Christi kicked off the scoring on the power play as Seth Blair scored his third goal of the year to give the IceRays a 1-0 lead 14:02 into regulation.

The IceRays scored the lone first period goal; Amarillo scored the only second period goal.  Matt Johnson scored his first of two goals tying the game at one 2:40 into the second period.

The third period saw seven goals busting the scoring wide open.  The Bulls started the third period scoring as Karl Beckman 3:53 into the third period pushing the Bulls out to a 2-1 lead.

Corpus Christi scored the next two goals in quick fashion.  AJ Jarosz scored his first as an IceRay, while Danny Fetzer scored a shorthanded goal going top shelf on Mike Taffe to give the IceRays a 3-2 advantage.

Amarillo tied the game on the same power play that Corpus Christi scored on moments before.  Matt Johnson notched his second of the night 7:33 into the third period tying the game at three.

The Bulls scored the next three goals as TJ Sarcona, Tyler Deresky, and Brooks Behling all scored to seal the 6-3 victory over the IceRays.

The IceRays are home tomorrow night as they host the Amarillo Bulls.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
